PHOENIX -- A Police investigation is underway near 14th St. and Broadway Rd. after two people, a father and son, were shot inside of a home.
The incident appears to be a home invasion. It occurred at about 2:30 am on Thursday.
According to officers, family members said two people broke down the front door and once inside the home fired several shots.
Officers said there may have been an exchange of gunfire between the suspects and victims before the father and son were shot.
As many as seven people, all family members, were inside the home at the time of the violent confrontation.
The two suspects who fled the scene have not yet been identified, however, they have been described as wearing hoodies.
The father, in his 40s, and son, in his 20s, are both being treated for gunshot wounds but are expected to recover.
Police said motive for the home invasion is not clear at this time.

PHOENIX (AP) -- Phoenix police say a father and an adult son were shot and wounded during an exchange of gunfire with intruders during a home invasion.
Details are sketchy but police say the exchange of gunfire occurred after two armed men broke open the home's front door early Thursday morning.
Initial reports indicate that the wounds suffered by the father and the son are not life-threatening.
At least six family members were in the home at the time.
No description is immediately available for the suspects.
