PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Police Department and the Parks Department are putting on a joint Pups Festival at Margaret R. Hance Park Saturday, Nov. 15.

From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., families, dog owners, and everyone else can come down to the park with their pets to see the K-9 Unit, participate in a Fun Dog Walk, and enter in contests and raffles.

"It is a first ever event for us. We're putting it on with the Parks Department in Phoenix," Sgt. Trent Crump of the Phoenix Police Department said. "We are doing it as a shared event for the community. We are trying to get community members out to the parks to have some fun and raise a little money at the same time."

There is a $20 registration fee to participate in the Fun Dog Walk.

All of the funds will go to the K-9 unit and Parks Department for park beautification and events.

"We are encouraging people to bring their dogs as well, on a leash," Crump said.
