GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Police are investigating after a man was shot while he was inside of an apartment early Tuesday morning.

It happened at a complex near 67th and Glendale avenues.

The victim, who is in his earlier 20s, has given conflicting reports to police.

At first, he told police three men were banging on the front door to the apartment and kicked the door open. He said one of those men pulled a handgun and shot him.

Later, the victim changed his story. Now he says two men came to the door and that a person who was already inside the apartment with him took out a handgun and shot the victim by accident.

The victim is expected to be okay.

Police are talking to witnesses and trying to sort through the conflicting accounts to determine how to proceed with their investigation.

The victim gave vague descriptions of the men who he claimed broke into the apartment.

Police have not named anyone who they are looking for or given any suspect descriptions.
