SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Bishop Eduardo Nevares is helping launch a $150,000 mission campaign to send a Valley choir to the 2016 New Year's Day Papal Mass in Rome at St. Peter's Basilica.

Bishop Eduardo helped launch the campaign Sunday for Pueri Cantores-St. Bernard of Clairvaux.

Overall, the trip will cost around $3,000 per kid. They would be the only choir representing Arizona.

"It is quite an honor to have Bishop Nevares join with us as we begin a year of determined effort - both from the Pueri Cantores kids singing, and from adults throughout the Diocese helping further the mission with their time and resources - that will culminate next year with performances in several churches of Rome after Christmas and under the columns of Bernini's Canopy in St. Peter's on New Year's Day," Kent Campbell, Pueri Cantores-St. Bernard of Clairvaux's Music Director, said.

Pueri Cantores-St. Bernard of Clairvaux is a member of Pueri Cantores, the official international youth choir organization of the Roman Catholic Church.
