Pima County records 1st flu case of the season

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Pima County has confirmed its first flu case of the season.

County health officials says the case involves a young child who lives in Pima County.

Dr. Francisco Garcia of the county Health Department says the confirmed case serves as a reminder that everyone should get vaccinated to protect himself, his family, and others in the community.

Pima County had more than 2,400 confirmed cases and 15 associated deaths of deaths during the 2013-2014 flu season, which ran from October through May.
