PHOENIX -- Seventeen year old Ben Rhodes from Kentucky will be competing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Phoenix International Raceway Friday.

Rhodes was Sunoco Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. He scored five wins, five poles, and 12 top-10 finishes in his first full season.

"I won my very first NASCAR K&N Pro Series East the day of my junior prom so it justifies it," the high school senior said.

Rhodes finished in the top-10 in two of the three races he's entered and made his debut in NASCAR's Camping World Truck Series this season.

"This is my last race of the year, I'm going for it. This is going to be a win for us," Rhodes said.
