GILBERT, Ariz. -- Joe's Farm Grill is giving away free cheeseburgers Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for their 8th annual Free Cheeseburger Day.
"There's two main reasons. First of all, customer appreciation day would be for our regulars and any restaurant needs regulars to survive. We have tons of good regulars," Joe Johnston, Owner of Joe's Farm Grill said. "But secondly it's for people who have never eaten here before to try it pretty much risk-free. Since it's free, how can you really lose."
They give out around 800 burgers per hour over a span of around five hours.
Customers will receive a cheeseburger, fries, and a soda or water.
"It becomes the largest picnic in Gilbert. So you will see hundreds of people out on the grasses. As you can tell it's nice and green out today, it's a beautiful day," Johnston said.
The building where Joe's Farm Grill is located used to be Johnston's home. He moved there with his family in 1967 and moved out in 2004 to repurpose it in to a restaurant.
