PHOENIX -- Looking for a furry friend to take home? Meet Foxie, a mixed breed dog. Her pedigree includes some Catahoula Leopard and Rhodesian Ridgeback. She is just over three years old.

Foxie is up for adoption through the Arizona Animal Welfare League.

"She's super active," says Witney Fletcher with the AAWL. "Just a super sweet girl."

Whitney also told us about the AAWL's Walk to Save Animals and PetFest. When you Walk to Save Animals, you are helping thousands of wonderful homeless pets find new homes where they will never again be abandoned, abused or neglected.

Every dollar raised from this event goes toward shelter, medical treatment and food for animals that are at risk of being euthanized due to over-crowded shelters in our community.

AAWL & SPCA’s Walk to Save Animals is a family-friendly annual event with a 2K and 5K walk, games, raffles, prizes, food, entertainment, and adoptions.

There will also be dog agility demonstrations, training advice, pet photos with Santa, adoptable dogs, and up-close interactions with exotic pet ambassadors from the AAWL & SPCA Education Department.

And the best part is, you get to bring your dog!

Raise or donate a minimum of $30 to participate in the walk. Individuals and organizations can form walk teams and raise money through pledges.

Admission to the PetFest is free.
