AHWATUKEE, Ariz. -- The family and descendants of the first doctor in Arizona had their first family reunion last Saturday at Ahwatukee Park.

Only about 40% of Arizonans were actually born in the state, but this family has been here over 150 years, creating seven generations of Arizonans.

Doctor Jones came to Phoenix in 1864. His home at 10th Street and Buckeye is thought to be the oldest home in Phoenix.

"The family has spread out so much that we don't all know each other anymore," Susan Arbuthnot, who is a 5th generation Arizonan, said.

This was the family's first reunion, but they are hoping to make it an annual event.
