TEMPE, Ariz. -- Twenty-two military veterans and their family members walked 22 miles Sunday to raise awareness about suicides among veterans.

According to Rally Point Arizona, there are 22 military suicides each day. That's one every 65 minutes.

"There's no better way for a veteran to help themselves than by helping their other fellow veterans in need and getting out here spreading awareness, you know, working on our day-to-day job. It's one of the most impactful things I've experienced in my life," said David Donaldson, who served in Iraq and attempted to take his own life.

The walk will conclude with a candlelight vigil at Tempe Town Lake.
