Chandler man accused of sexually abusing child

CHANDLER, Ariz. -- A 35-year-old Chandler man was arrested on suspicion of multiple sex offenses Thursday after allegedly distributing images and videos he created while sexually abusing a 10-year-old boy.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, authorities in Australia identified a suspect with images depicting the sexual abuse of a young Arizona boy.

Detectives from the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force reportedly tied Edwin Collison to numerous images of the boy and other young children being sexually abused.

The investigation included more than 10,000 chat messages.

Phoenix police said Collison has been charged with nine counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, nine counts of sexual exploitation of a minor - production, five counts of child molestation and two counts of sexual conduct with a minor. All of the charges are class two felonies.

Collison is under investigation by Chandler police for another case involving the distribution of sexual abuse images.
