TUBA CITY, Ariz. (AP) -- Authorities say 17 people have been arrested in a Tuba City drug sweep.

Federal, tribal and state task force investigators say 20 people have been charged with federal drug trafficking but only 15 have been arrested.

Two people also have been arrested for alleged violations of the terms of their pretrial release.

The two were arrested in May on assault-related charges during the Tuba City violent offender initiative.

The names of the 17 in custody and the five fugitives weren't immediately released Tuesday.

Authorities say convictions for the drug offenses carry penalties of up to 20 years in prison and $1 million in fines.

They say the drug offenses involve trafficking of methamphetamine and cocaine.
