Flight of the Phoenician
The Phoenician has unveiled a new resort ritual, called the Flight of the Phoenix.  The show is complimentary for guests and local residents/visitors. Takes place every Friday and Saturday at sunset (approx. 5:30 p.m.) on the Thirsty Camel patio. Tells the story of the mythological Mayan Fire Spirit, which ancients believed could rise from the ashes to be reborn. Features South American Vulture Zopilote Rey, who soars from above, swooping down on the audience to once again regain his regal position amidst a flaming replica of his likeness.  As prophesized in the story, he brings good fortune and well-being to all who witness him. After each show, guests are encouraged to get close for photos of Zopilote Rey and some of his wild counterparts that reside here at The Phoenician.  Master Falconer Robby Sinkler is also available for questions.
