PHOENIX -- Six mobile homes in Phoenix were evacuated after a van struck one home and caused a gas leak, police said.

Phoenix Police Lt. Brian Duran said the van crashed into the mobile home near 41st street and McDowell Road after avoiding a collision with another vehicle.

"A vehicle came off the side street and almost hit," Duran said. "The driver of the van had to avoid the collision, pulled off the road over the sidewalk and hit a trailer on the south side."

The mobile home was occupied at the time.

Officers blocked off the area and Southwest Gas responded.

The driver of the van stayed at the scene. Police are looking for the driver of the other car.
