PEORIA, Ariz. -- There's no better way to get into the Halloween spirit than by painting some pumpkins! And folks will get the chance to do so at this year's Monster Bash in Peoria.

The city hosts the bash each year, this year the event will be held at a new site.

The community is invited to have a spooky good time at the annual Peoria Halloween Monster Bash on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Centennial Plaza, behind City Hall, 8401 W. Monroe Street. Admission is free.

The annual event includes a colorful parade of costumes, fun contests, and safe trick or treating opportunities. Inflatable activities, carnival games, crafts, interactive games and a rock wall are also offered. In addition, food and live entertainment will be part of the festivities.

Pumpkin decorating will, of course, be available. And Matt Kalcevich with the city of Peoria told us about some other fun activities families are sure to enjoy. "This is sandy candy," he says. "It's just a chance for kids to make their own treat."

New this year, the Peoria Main Library will be offering Halloween fun in conjunction with the event, with a special Halloween story time. Creepy Crawlers from Deb's Dragons will also be on display.

"The city of Peoria is dedicated to providing quality community events," says Matt. "We believe we have things for kids of all ages, parents and families to enjoy."
