Police seek help identifying 2 possible suspects in '06 homicide

PHOENIX – Police detectives are asking for the public's help identifying two possible suspects in a homicide that happened eight years ago in Phoenix.

Jermaine Johnson, 27, was killed on Oct. 20, 2006.

Police said he and two friends were walking down an alley near 40th Street and McDowell Road around 9 p.m. when two suspects approached the group and shot Johnson.

Police said the suspects had gotten into a confrontation with Johnson a week prior in the same area and shots were fired.

One suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male, 18 to 25 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 155 pounds with short hair and possibly named "Xavier."

The other suspect is described as a black male, 18 to 22 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 155 pounds with short hair and possibly nicknamed "Maniac."
