School bus hit by car; no students injured

PHOENIX -- Emergency crews responded after the driver of a car crashed into the back of a school bus on Monday morning.

It happened on New River Road at 31st Ave.

None of the children on the bus was injured. The driver of the car was not hurt but the passenger in the car had minor injuries according to a spokesman for the Daisy Mountain Fire Dept.

The bus, number 45, was going to New River Elementary school, according to a spokeswoman with the Deer Valley School District.

The district sent another bus to pick up the children and take them to school.

New River Road was closed for part of the morning.
