PHOENIX -- Investigators are trying to determine what caused a fire at a vacant home in Phoenix early Sunday morning.

Phoenix Fire Capt. Benjamin Santillan said fire crews were called to the home near 15th Avenue and Van Buren Street around 3:45 a.m.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and kept them from spreading to the neighboring house, Santillan said.

The home had been boarded up.

No firefighters were injured.
