A team of construction workers from McCarthy Building Companies teamed up with the City of Chandler, For Our City, Chandler Fire, the Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program (I-HELP) and a few other social service agencies to transform an old fire hazmat trailer into a mobile shower unit plus laundromat complete with 3 shower stalls and a brand new washer and dryer.
Chandler's Fire, Health & Medical Department donated a surplus hazmat trailer to For Our City Chandler to be repurposed into a mobile shower unit with washer and dryer for use by the Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program (I-HELP). When McCarthy Building Companies learned of the need and stepped up to tackle the conversion project, outfitting the trailer with three shower stalls and a laundry facility. It's Halloween. You don't want to be the house that's known for giving out carrot sticks, but you'd also like to hand out sweet treats that's aren't so bad on kids' teeth. That's where Chandler Dentist J. Philipp's suggestions can help.
Halloween Candy Buy Back Program:
Parents can also have kids choose their favorite pieces and donate the rest. On Monday, November 3, Dr. Philipp will continue his Halloween tradition of paying $2 per pound (up to 5 pounds) for candy. The candy will be shipped to American troops as part of Operation Gratitude. Sending candy to troops provides a 'taste of home' and lets them know that children appreciate their service. Parents can bring their children to Dr.Philipp's office from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. to donate
