TUCSON, Ariz. -- Eight people were arrested Wednesday as part of a multi-agency investigation into suspected racketeering activities of Tucson street gangs.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the individuals are suspected of narcotics trafficking, money laundering, trafficking in firearms and committing violent crimes.

The suspects are Nathaniel Griffin, Nichol Celaya, Williezine Griffin Sr., Cedric Jackson, Jose Barrio Jr., Augustine Guillen, Juan Gallegos and Timothy Musgrove.

More than 50 local and state law enforcement officials executed search warrants at seven Tucson locations before dawn Wednesday.

Authorities also seized 11 weapons, four vehicles, one trailer, grow supplies, law enforcement uniform outerwear, drugs, gang indicia, miscelleneous electronics, ammunition and $4,500 in cash.

DPS said "Operation Graceland" was initiated based on information gathered by its gang task force and Tucson police.

The case is being prosecuted by the criminal division of the Arizona Attorney General's Office in Tucson, according to DPS.
