Before having your pet spayed or neutered, the Arizona Humane Society asks that you follow these important instructions:
You and your pet need to be prepared for your pet’s spay or neuter surgery. Here are some things you’ll need to do to help him or her get ready for the big day:
- Do not feed your pet for the 12 hours prior to their procedure.
- All pets must be at least 2 months old and weight three pounds or more.
- Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a carrier.
- It is a same-day procedure, so be ready to take your pet home with you.
