PHOENIX -- A ridge of high pressure building into Arizona from the west will bring us a rather quiet and warmer weather for the weekend.

In the mountains, we’ll see highs in the 60s and 70s. In the deserts, high temps will be running in the low to mid-90s. Generally, temperatures will be running a little bit above normal for the weekend statewide.

We’ll see some changes late in the day Sunday in northern Arizona. A cold front, rather strong but dry, will start moving into the state Sunday night. Ahead of that front, we’ll see some breezy, if not windy, conditions in the north.

As the front pushes through, we don’t see any showers developing. And on the back side, very dry air will drop dew points into the 20s and 30s, and we’ll see some of the coolest low temperatures around the Valley in quite some time.

Right now, most of next week also looks to be very quiet weatherwise, with desert highs right around 90 and overnight lows in the 60s and 50s.
