Oktoberfest lights up Tempe this weekend

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The 42nd annual Four Peaks Oktoberfest at Tempe Town Lake begins Friday night at 5 p.m. and will continue through Sunday.

Admission is free and participants can enjoy German and Craft beers and Von Hanson's Meats and Spirits famous bratwursts. Over 15 German beer varieties will be on site.

There will also be carnival rides including a free merry-go-round and a das Frank Kush Foot Race as well as 25 bands for entertainment. All day carnival ride tickets can be purchased for $30.

All proceeds benefit the nonprofit Tempe Sister Cities.

5 p.m. to midnight
Special: 4 beers, 2 Brats and 2 souvenir steins for $25

10a.m. to midnight

10a.m. to 6 p.m.
Special: Family pricing all day; beer taste testing available all day

Barefoot Wine & Bubbly is the official Oktoberfest wine.

"We are always doing things for nonprofit organizations. We are a large wine brand but we want to stay as localized as possible," Lacenia Cheek of Barefoot Wine said.
