Ariz. man arrested in kidnapping, sexual assault of Colo. teenPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A 26-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly kidnapping a teenage girl he met at a party in Colorado and sexually assaulting her in Phoenix.
Jesus Holguin was arrested Friday after the 16-year-old girl flagged down a citizen in Phoenix and said she had been taken to Arizona against her will several days before.
The teen reportedly met Holguin at a party on Sept. 26 in Colorado, where she is a resident, and ignored his attempts to flirt with her.
She said she saw Holguin at a party the following night, where she ingested cocaine he allegedly provided and drank alcohol.
She told police she lost consciousness and woke up in Holguin's vehicle with his mother and another man.
According to court documents, Holguin told the teen he was taking her home but drove her to the Phoenix area, where they all checked into a Super 8 motel.
The teen reported three incidents of sexual assault, with the first occurring at the motel on Sept. 29. She told police she never consented to sexual activity.
She was later taken to a house in the Phoenix area and escaped Friday morning while everyone was asleep, according to the documents.
Police said Holguin denied any sexual contact and claimed the teen's parents gave him permission to take her to Arizona. But court records say the girl's parents had reported her missing.
The teen was evaluated by a nurse.
Holguin has been charged with five counts of sexual assault, one count of sexual abuse and one count of kidnapping -- all felonies.
He is being held without bail and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 14.
According to court documents, Holguin has a prior aggravated assault conviction.
