Ex-Phoenix JP candidate sentenced for sex crimes

PHOENIX (AP) -- A former candidate for Justice of the Peace in downtown Phoenix has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sex crimes involving minors.

Maricopa County prosecutors say Israel Correa was sentenced Monday to two consecutive five-year prison terms for luring a minor for sexual exploitation.

He also was sentenced to lifetime supervised probation for solicitation of child prostitution, solicitation of child prostitution, sexual conduct with a minor, child abuse with sexual motivation and attempted sexual assault.
