PHOENIX -- After a hot weekend, the Valley will see a slight break from the heat today with an afternoon high of about 94 degrees.
High clouds are increasing today from the south ahead of Tropical Storm Simon. The storm is expected to be downgraded soon to a remnant low, but will still push significant tropical moisture into Arizona.
Expect mostly cloudy skies and high temperatures in the 80s Tuesday through Thursday with a chance for rain and thunderstorms. Rain could be heavy at times, with Valley neighborhoods getting anywhere from 0.5 an inch to 2 inches of rain between Tuesday and Thursday.
Starting Friday, high pressure is forecast to return and quiet and warmer weather will return in time for next weekend.
