We always have a mental list of things we need -- whether it's a birthday gift for a friend or a new pair of underwear. This month, our shopping can help others, in addition to marking off items on our list.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so many companies are offering special "pink" products and giving a percentage of the proceeds to breast cancer researchers or organizations that assist breast cancer survivors and patients. Here are some wonderful pink finds!

Looking for some fresh undies or camis? Ruby Ribbon has seven stylish undergarments -- including pink shapewear that will benefit City of Hope, a world leader in breast cancer research and treatment. We are loving the red lace cami/panties and the shiny pink tank/briefs. Fighting against breast cancer was a natural choice for Ruby Ribbon -- 90 percent of its Independent Stylists report that a loved one has had breast cancer.

How about a new scarf for fall? This one doubles as a pillow! The Sleeper Scarf is an inflatable neck pillow disguised inside a scarf. The "U" shaped pocket around the neck holds the pillow in place, while keeping you warm … great for plane rides and road trips! This month, Sleeper Scarf will donate 20 percent of online sales of the pink scarf to Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Who doesn't need a new pair of jeans for fall? Love Premium Denim is a stylish, yet comfortable new brand that celebrates women and helps them feel at ease in their own skin. Love Premium Denim does more than provide a flattering fit. The line also honors a cause. Three out of four styles are named after a breast cancer survivor: Suzanne, Olivia and Kylie. This month, a percentage of proceeds will be donated to the CURE Foundation.

Being a 4-eyes is super fashionable with Peeper's pink and white striped specs or the chic black with a pink sparkly ribbon. For each pairs sold, Peepers will donate 10 percent of the proceeds to Living Beyond Breast Cancer.

Celebrate your cancer survivor with Cakes Under the Influence. Cakes Under the Influence offers cocktail cake baking kits for fun looking martini or margarita cakes and cookies with an adult kick -- you add liquor! These cake creations are a huge hit at parties! You can also make non-alcoholic treats with this easy to use kits and gear, like Shirley Temple Martini Cookies. There's also the Pink Sunrise Cake -- similar to a tequila sunrise, but made with Kinky Liqueur instead of grenadine. All of these recipes and many more can be found online at CakesUnderTheInfluence.com. Plus, in October, Cakes Under the Influence is offering 10% off of your order and donating 10% of gross sales to the Susan G. Komen Foundation -- coupon code: Celebrate Pink is required.

Whitening Lightning moisturizing lip gloss is perfect for the Valley's dry air. It contains collagen peptides to speed up cell renewal, increasing lip size safely and painlessly. The fun fall shades of pink provide rich color that won't fade, feather or bleed. For each Pink Color Your Smile Lighted Lip Gloss, $1 will be donated to Beckstrand Cancer Organization.

We also adore Mia Beauty Tony Hair Ties! These double duty, no-tug hair ties are comfortable and will not leave a crease in your hair. Wear them as bracelets to ensure you always have a hair tie when needed! When you purchase the pink ribbon Tony Ties online, $1 is donated to the Breast Cancer Fund.
