PHOENIX (AP) -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is expected in Arizona to headline two fundraisers and a campaign event for Republican governor candidate Doug Ducey.

The potential Republican presidential candidate is on a multi-state trip to stump for GOP candidates. He plans a stop at a Ducey for Governor phone bank in Phoenix late Thursday afternoon, followed by a Republican Governors Association fundraiser in Scottsdale. He wraps up the evening at a Ducey fundraiser.

Christie is using his position as chairman of the Republican governors group to help raise money for candidates. The position and the multi-state travel that comes with it also allow Christie to keep up his national exposure as he considers a 2016 presidential bid.

Christie heads to Colorado and Iowa Friday to stump for Republican governor's candidates.
