GLENDALE, Ariz. -- A Glendale mother was arrested after she dropped and fell on top of her 3-year-old daughter while allegedly drunk, according to police.

Teresa Armendariz, 30, is facing child abuse and endangerment charges.

Glendale police were talking to Armendariz after receiving reports she was involved in a fight at an apartment complex near Glendale and 51st avenues Sunday night, according to court documents.

Officers noted she was swaying, stumbling and slurring her words.

Armendariz was with her 3-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son. Police said she picked up the girl then dropped her when she tried to set her down. She then fell on top of the child.

The girl was not hurt.

Child Protective Services responded to the scene and took possession of the children, according to court records.
