Octane Raceway's Lucky 11 Anniversary Celebration, Scottsdale's best kart racing facility, featuring the country's only 1/3 mile permanent indoor/outdoor track. The kart racing and event venue is commemorating the achievement with a 'Lucky 11' weekend featuring discounted racing, food and drink specials, and prizes for guests, with a grand prize of free kart racing for a full year. This celebration also marks the first anniversary at their upscale location in Scottsdale in the Pavilions at Talking Stick. The celebration runs all weekend of October 3 through 5, during normal business hours.

Banner Visitor Restrictions
Banner Health is set to implement annual visitor restrictions this week at all of our hospitals effective
Wednesday, Oct. 1 because of the flu season and the possible threat of the Enterovirus D68. According to one of Banner Health's infection preventionists, we have not seen any Enterovirus D68 patients at any of our hospitals and also according to the Centers for Disease Control, Arizona has not yet seen any cases related to this virus in the state. The restrictions at our hospitals are preventative measures.

Cari Henning of Mesa Arizona was named a top 10 semi-finalist in All You magazine's "America's Smartest Shopper" contest, beating out over 800 other entrants. She's now asking the public to rally behind her and vote for her daily through October 3. All You magazine, voters, and a panel of savvy-saving judges will determine three finalists who will receive cash prizes and be flown to New York City to appear on the TODAY show in advance of Black Friday later this fall. The winner will be crowned America's Smartest Shopper on live television.
Taste of the Town
Hundreds of Valley foodies, wine enthusiasts and the culinary curious will gather under the stars for a night of music, dancing and delectable tastings during the Muscular Dystrophy Association's 14th Annual Taste of the Town, Friday, Oct. 17 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Scottsdale Quarter. Emceed by KTVK's April Warnecke and Mark McClune, the charitable evening will feature more than 20 of the Valley's top restaurants serving up their finest food and drink for a great cause.
General admission tickets for Taste of the Town are priced at $75 through Oct. 3, after which general
admission increases to $100.
