PHOENIX -- Powerful winds and torrential rain halted the Maricopa County Home and Landscape Show on Saturday. It knocked over tents and fences and knocked out out the power.

“I believe we had two feet of water out there in the outdoor booths, a lot of storm damage,” said event organizer Katie Jones.

Another big concern was all the water that was seeping into the building. It flooded the floors, ruining some of the products and getting very close to electrical outlets.

“Especially with all that storm damage, they wanted to visit with some landscapers, some tree trimmers and some storm specialists and exhibitors,” Jones said.

It took some down home cleaning, but the water was soaked up and items were dried off just in time for the last day of the show.

“It looks like, quite honestly, it never happened," Jones said. "We were working into the wee hours and got here very early this morning. The show must go on."
