MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- Police are asking for the public's help in locating a man accused of repeatedly punching a Mesa bus driver.

Authorities say the suspect asked the driver Sept. 8 around 6: 15 a.m. to move the bus so he could retrieve his bicycle amid street flooding.

When the bus driver was unable to move the bus, the man allegedly punched the driver more than 20 times in the face and head.

The driver had to be hospitalized for his injuries.

The suspect left on a red beach cruiser bicycle.

Police describe him as 30-35 years old, 6-foot-1 and white. He was traveling with a woman between 25 and 30 years old. She had pink hair and glasses and was wearing medical scrubs.

Anyone with information is asked to call 480-WITNESS.
