PEORIA, Ariz. -- Police are searching for suspects after a man said he was assaulted by group of young men outside a Peoria grocery store.
Just before midnight on Aug. 30, the 35-year-old man flagged down officers and said he was assaulted near 83rd Avenue and Cactus Road while walking home.
He told police five men came out of a grocery store and started yelling at him. He said when he yelled back, they got out of their vehicle and began assaulting him.
Police said the man's injuries were not life-threatening and he is recovering.
The group believed to be involved was captured on surveillance video inside the grocery store prior to the assault. The suspects are described as black males between 16 and 25 years old. They were driving a small, four-door sedan.
"At this point, we're just asking for the public's help," said Peoria police spokeswoman Amanda Jacinto. "We have pretty good images of them and what they look like, and we know that somebody out there can help us identify them."
