Burned woman found in Tucson drainage culvert diesPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Pima County Sheriff's Department said a woman who was found critically burned in a Tucson drainage culvert has died.
Valerie Sue Bellemare, 45, died Wednesday night at Arizona Burn Center at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix.
Bellemare was found in the flood control drainage culvert at Palo Verde Road and 37th Street shortly before noon Wednesday.
Detectives are investigating whether she was a victim of an assault or robbery.
