PHOENIX -- 3 On Your Side's Gary Harper has had business owners run from him, but not quite like what happened at My Sister's Appliances.

So why would someone speed off so quickly?
Jo Ann Soden says she knows why. "It's a bait and switch, it's a classic bait and switch," she says.

Jo Ann says she came to a business called My Sister's Appliances just off of Bell Road and Cave Creek. It was here where she says she paid $339 for a used refrigerator and a used stove.

Jo Ann says the appliances were perfect for her second home.
"Update it, make it look nice," she says. "It's going to be our winter home. We're snow birds."

But here's the problem. Jo Ann says she doesn't believe the appliances are what she picked out and paid for.

For instance, she claims that the stove that was delivered is a completely different brand and color from what she selected.

As for the refrigerator that was dropped off? Jo Ann says it's the right color but it's damaged and dented and looks different from the one she chose.

"A, it's not white. B, it's not the stove that they sent me the picture on. It's in horrible condition. I don't know what to tell you; that's not going to work. I don't want that delivered.”

Jo Ann refuses to bring the items into her home, but My Sister's Appliances says they're hers now.

3 On Your Side got a hold of My Sister's Appliances but we were brushed off. So Gary went to the business.

But the owners literally abandoned their own business just to avoid 3 On Your Side's questions.

Gary Harper: "So you guys run the business but you don't want to talk to a TV station when we show up?! This guy goes out the back door, you go out the front door, this is how this works?!!"

Apparently, it is how it works.

Gary Harper: "Hey really?  This is how you operate your own business?"

Jo Ann says she's disappointed and is left with appliances she doesn't want.

"If I were doing something today with it, I would be taking it over to Goodwill," she says.
