FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) -- A Florence man has been arrested for aggravated assault and domestic abuse for allegedly injuring his wife.

Pinal County Sheriff's officials say 34-year-old Andrew Decker was taken into custody Friday at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

He had been out of the country for work since June 8 and authorities arrested him after his plane landed.

He's being held on a $5,000 bond at the county jail in Florence.

Sheriff's officials say Decker's 38-year-old wife reported the domestic violence incident on July 9.

She told authorities that her husband assaulted her by breaking her left leg in their home on May 11.

The woman needed surgery and was in a hospital for five days.

She says Decker told hospital staff that she had fallen and injured her leg.
