PHOENIX -- Phoenix police are searching for suspects in the death of a 27-year-old woman early Saturday morning.

Around 2 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call of unknown trouble near 37th Avenue and Van Buren Street. While en route, police received additional calls of shots fired in the area.

Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Martos said the officers found a woman with obvious signs of trauma at a vacant home.

She was transported to an area hospital but succumbed to her injuries. Her name is being withheld until her family is located.

Witnesses told police that they saw several individuals flee the home after the shots were fired, according to Martos.

Anyone with information about the homicide is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
