NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) -- The American Red Cross says it put up several Nogales families in a hotel overnight because they couldn't return to their homes due to street flooding.

The Red Cross's southern Arizona chapter says four or five families involving 15 to 20 people were assisted.

Nogales Mayor Arturo Garino says the street flooding was five and six inches deep before it receded Wednesday night.

Garino says the flooding resulted from a wash that overflowed.
