Suspect flees on bike after robbing Chandler credit union

CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Authorities are searching for a man who robbed a Chandler credit union Monday morning then fled on a mountain bike.
The suspect entered the San Tan Credit Union near Arizona Avenue and Ray Road at approximately 9:20 a.m. He placed a burgundy and gray Franklin drawstring bag on the teller counter and told the teller to give him all the money.
The suspect reportedly stated he was armed, but no weapon was shown.
Authorities said the teller handed over a known quantity of cash and the suspect fled the bank then rode off on a black mountain bike.
The suspect is described as a heavy-set white male, 40 years old and 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall.
He was wearing a black San Tan Brewery baseball hat, black sunglasses, black long-sleeve sweatshirt with an unknown logo on the front, beige shorts and white shoes.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the FBI at 623-466-1999.
