Big rain ahead for southern ArizonaPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- The moisture from Odile is still expected to produce a lot of rain in southern and southeast Arizona over the next several days.
Many areas south of Tucson are forecast to get more than 4 inches of rain. Odile is currently a tropical storm and continues to lose strength. Still, the core of the storm will enter southern Arizona as a tropical depression and that is the reason Flash Flood Watches are up across Arizona for Wednesday.
In the Valley, the same forecast charts show that we may be on the border between the big rainfall numbers and more pedestrian totals. Still, it’s likely that through Friday, many areas of the Valley will see up to one inch of rain. However, for folks in the southern and southeast Valley, those rainfall numbers could be higher.
Temperatures are going to be great while all this cloudiness from Odile is hanging around, with highs only in the 80s and 90s for the next several days.
