VALLEYWIDE -- If you're not a coffee drinker, McDonald's wants to convert you. If you can't get going without your morning caffeine fix, Ronald wants to help you out. Either way, you can enjoy free coffee every morning through Sept. 29.

McDonald's launched its second National McCafé Free Coffee Event Monday morning.

Now through Sept. 29, which happened to be National Coffee Day, guests can get a free small McCafé coffee during breakfast hours at participating McDonald's restaurants across the country. No purchase is necessary.

"We want to let everyone know that we have some great-tasting coffee," McDonald's spokesman Jerry Gehrke told 3TV's Javier Soto when they met up at the Seventh Avenue and Camelback Road location Tuesday morning.

McDonald's hosted its first free coffee event in earlier this year, and it was a huge success.

"We had an overwhelming local response from the first Free Coffee Event and McDonald's wants to give even more people a morning pick-me-up and the chance to enjoy McCafé coffee, on us," Michelle Slayton, president of McDonald's Owner/Operator Association of Phoenix & Northern Arizona, said in a news release. "We believe this second event will continue to encourage people to see what McDonald's has for breakfast while also rewarding longtime guests with a free cup of coffee to accompany their favorite morning meal."

In addition to giving folks free coffee, McDonald's also is urging people to "sip and tell." That means sharing your embarrassing pre-coffee moments on social media with @McCafe using the hashtag #SipandTell.
