PHOENIX, Ariz. -- A Peoria man was killed in a crash on Loop 202 Saturday afternoon.

Fredrick C. Manske, 70, was riding a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound and swiped the rear of 2002 four-door Honda as he tried to swerve around it, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

DPS said the Honda had stopped near the 24th Street exit because the traffic preceding it had stopped.

The motorcycle overturned and Manske was thrown. DPS said he was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the Honda, a 58-year-old Glendale woman, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

The crash blocked the right lane and exit lane, backing up westbound traffic to 40th Street.
