SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Police and wildlife experts rescued a coyote from a Scottsdale home Thursday.

The homeowner called 911 shortly before 7 a.m.

"A coyote high-tailed it into my house, and it is now hiding. It's like now stuck in the fireplace," he told the dispatcher.

The homeowner said he tried nudging the coyote with a broom, but it wouldn't move.

"At first I was making sure it wasn't going to attack, but it looks like almost a baby. It's scared," he said.

Scottsdale police and volunteers from the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center were able to remove the animal.
