PHOENIX -- Police have located the parents of a young girl who was found in Phoenix Saturday morning.

Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Martos said they were found in the area of 71st Avenue and Berkeley Road, which is north of McDowell Road, and arrangements were being made to reunite the family.

He said it appears the toddler, Alma, got out on her own.

She was found at 5:15 a.m. in a neighborhood at 71st Avenue and Holly Street, which is near 67th Avenue and McDowell Rd.

Sgt. Martos said police officers tried to find the girl's home but were unsuccessful. They turned the child over to Arizona Department of Child Safety.
