PHOENIX -- After a wild week of weather in the Valley, Friday looks to be pretty quiet. Look for mostly sunny skies and an afternoon high of 104 degrees. Temperatures will dip to the 90s by kickoff for Friday night high school football games under mostly clear skies.
Monsoon moisture is slowly returning to our region, which will lead to an increased chance of storms over the weekend. Chances are best in the high country, especially on Sunday. For the Valley, there's a 10 percent chance of storms both days. Temperatures should peak around 102 degrees both Saturday and Sunday.
Next week, there's a chance for heavy rain, thanks to Tropical Storm Odile. The storm is forecast to become a hurricane by later today, and is expected to move up toward the Baja Peninsula at hurricane strength by late in the weekend. Depending on the track of the storm, abundant moisture could be pushed up in to Arizona, leading to an increased chance of potentially heavy rain Tuesday and Wednesday.
