NOGALES, Ariz. -- Authorities say an Arizona woman tried to smuggle nearly 16 pounds of methamphetamine and cocaine into the United States on Monday.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Mariposa border crossing in Nogales referred a 34-year-old Amado woman for additional inspection after a narcotics detection K-9 alerted to her Chevrolet SUV.

Officers reportedly found five packages of meth and three packages of cocaine inside the seats.

The drugs have an estimated value of $106,000.

The drugs and vehicle were seized, and the woman was referred to U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
