SUN CITY, Ariz. – A man died after being ejected from his golf cart during a collision in Sun City Tuesday morning, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to a crash at 99th Drive and Thunderbird Boulevard at approximately 11:15 a.m.

MCSO spokesman Deputy Joaquin Enriquez said a Chrysler Aspen was traveling west when a Yamaha golf cart heading north pulled in front of it, causing the crash.

John Orville Armstrong, 89, of Sun City, was ejected from the golf cart and suffered head injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he died.

The 75-year-old Peoria man driving the SUV was not injured.

Enriquez said speed and impairment do not seem to be factors in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing.
