PHOENIX -- After a day of record rain and flooding, temperatures will continue to be unseasonably cool today. It will feel very humid, as plenty of tropical moisture remains in our atmosphere. That moisture, along with a weather disturbance likely to move through the state today, will lead to another chance of showers.
While an event like yesterday is unlikely to be repeated today, there could be brief periods of heavy rain with any showers that develop. Look for a high of about 93 degrees in the Valley today under partly cloudy skies. Storm chances for the Valley are at about 40 percent, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.
Storm and shower chances continue tonight before a drying and warming trend begins Wednesday and continues through the start of the weekend.
By the weekend, we are looking at a return to a more monsoon-like pattern and a return of monsoon storms.
