PHOENIX (AP) -- Much of Arizona will be under a flash flood watch through Tuesday evening.

A flash flood watch warns that flash flooding is possible in washes and low-lying places. The watch area extends from western Arizona across north-central Arizona toward the northeastern corner.

The National Weather Service says showers and thunderstorms developing in western Arizona will move eastward during the afternoon and evening.

Phoenix and Tucson experienced heavy rainfall and flooding on Monday but aren't included in the watch area for Tuesday.

The watch area includes Flagstaff, Prescott, Parker, Buckeye, Cottonwood, Wickenburg and Sedona.
