FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Flagstaff police have arrested a man they say was trying to set up a sexual encounter with an underage girl.

John Henry Riley, 45, was being held Saturday at Coconino County Detention Facility on one count of luring a minor for sexual exploitation.

According to police, Riley allegedly set up a Craigslist ad seeking a "new, young" girl from Northern Arizona University to watch him perform sexual acts in public.

Police say a multi-agency task force discovered the ad last week while conducting proactive investigations on social media websites.

The task force arranged a meeting Thursday between Riley, who had been using a fictitious name, and an officer posing as a 16-year-old girl in a parking lot.

Police say Riley told the officer she didn't look like a 16-year-old and then admitted to his involvement when arrested.

Authorities also recovered a loaded firearm from his vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
